Visitor Policy and COVID-19 Information

As part of our commitment to protect our patients and staff, and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases affecting our communities (including COVID-19 and monkeypox), we have implemented the following in our facilities:

Anyone entering our facilities must continue to wear a well-fitted mask, that covers their nose, mouth and chin, regardless of vaccination status. You may receive a recommendation to wear a KP supplied mask upon entry to facility to improve safety. Please adhere to all self-symptom screening required for entry to our facilities as posted at entry points.

Inpatient Facilities

Our hospital visitor restrictions correspond directly to the CDPH-published COVID-19 transmission rates in the county that our hospitals are located and are based on 4 levels of transmission rates: high, substantial, moderate, or low. For your local facility visitor policy information please check the list below.

Latest Updates on COVID Testing

Use a COVID-19 home antigen test at the first sign of symptoms. Visit kp.org/covidtests to learn how you can get a test at no cost.

Please don’t go to urgent care or the emergency department for COVID-19 testing — only members who need immediate care should go to those locations.

Notice of Your Right to COVID-19 Testing by Kaiser Permanente

Testing plays a major role in fighting COVID-19 — for your health, the health of our communities, and to help safely reopen businesses, schools, and more. As an important part of Kaiser Permanente’s ongoing commitment to our members and communities, we have recently expanded our COVID-19 testing capacity. Members can now self-schedule a COVID-19 test on kp.org through an e-visit. To learn more about COVID-19 testing, click here.

For Santa Clara Residents please be advised of your new patient rights to receive COVID-19 testing within 24 hours of request and results within 72 hours; as well as other rights per the January 31, 2022 Santa Clara County Testing order.  Other languages can be found here.
