The Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center offers a variety of mental health services. We hope you will not hesitate to call us, for advice or to arrange for services, if your child appears to be troubled or suffering in some way. Call to find out about our orientation program, if you believe you may need to seek services.
Your child’s treatment plan, based on an assessment of his or her needs, may include health education, individual, family, or group interventions, and sometimes, medication, as appropriate. If your child should need Chemical Dependency services, these are available within our Department of Psychiatry as well. As mentioned above, your child’s emotional health is related to the quality of his or her physical heath, family life, and social and academic experiences. The mental health professionals in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic encourage the promotion of health in all these realms.
