Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center Nationally Recognized with an ‘A’ for the Spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade
PANORAMA CITY, Calif., April 30, 2020 — Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center was awarded an ‘A’ in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Gradea national distinction recognizing Kaiser Permanente’s achievements providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade is a letter grade assigned to all general hospitals across the country and updated every six months, assessing how well the hospital prevents medical errors and other harms to patients.
“Every patient has a right to safety,” said Payman Roshan, senior vice president and area manager, Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center. “We are proud to earn this recognition and attribute our high marks to our physicians and employees who care for the health and needs of our members and patients on a daily basis.”
Donating COVID-19 supplies
Kaiser Permanente is aggressively working to secure the necessary personal protective equipment and other critical supplies to safeguard our employees and physicians in our medical centers in accordance with the latest public health guidelines, as well as guidance from our own infectious disease experts for clinical quality and safety.
As COVID-19 is now spreading quickly through many communities, our equipment and supply needs have increased significantly and so have our efforts. We are rapidly planning to ensure that we understand and can respond to the anticipated patient surge. We are evaluating various epidemic models and aligning our current and future supply needs.
We are working with our current vendors and have expanded our reach to include nontraditional suppliers, and are partnering with manufacturers and raw material suppliers to produce specific critical supplies, such as masks.
We also have teamed up with cross-industry partners to launch Protecting People Everywhere, an initiative powered by the HealthEquip™ app, which matches personal protective equipment and other medical supply donations with the hospitals that need them most.
How you can help
To donate personal protective equipment and other medical supplies (minimum quantity of 10), visit health-equip.com. For the safety of all health care workers, donations must be new, unopened, and in their original packaging.
Vendors or manufacturers interested in doing business with Kaiser Permanente to help with the PPE shortage are invited to contact us. Please email BuytoPay@kp.org with details, and a member of our team will follow up.
