Ariela Emery, MS, LCGC
My Background
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.
Education & Experience
I majored in Radio/Television/Film and minored in Sociology to complete my B.A. from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Following graduation, I spent a year as a teaching assistant in Spain, and then I returned to Houston to direct film and visual arts events for the Jewish Community Center there. I moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to work in the entertainment industry, but I ultimately decided that being a genetic counselor would be more intellectually and spiritually rewarding. I completed post-baccalaureate scientific coursework at UCLA Extension before getting my M.S. in Genetic Counseling from California State University, Stanislaus in 2017. For over five years, I worked for Labcorp as a clinical prenatal counselor at various perinatology practices in the Greater Los Angeles Area. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2023.
About My Practice
My primary areas of focus are prenatal and cancer genetics.
How I Thrive
I enjoy traveling, theater, cozy nights at home, and spending time with family and friends.
