News & Events
In the Redwood City Area, we recently awarded grants to 22 non-profit agencies that serve our local communities. These grants are part of our Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Benefit program, which is dedicated to improving the health of the communities we serve. Grant recipients use the funding to support many health needs such as exercise, nutrition, intervention for at risk youth, behavioral health, and alcohol/ drug abuse prevention. Funding will also help fight obesity in our county, address domestic and teen violence, and issues associated with aging.
“The reach of Kaiser Permanente’s efforts goes beyond our walls,” said Michelle Gaskill-Hames, Senior Vice President and Area Manager, “and the impact that we make touches the lives of thousands of people and families throughout our service area — both today and for years to come.”
Grants are awarded to non-profit organizations near Kaiser Permanente’s Redwood City Medical Center and San Mateo Medical Offices. Some of the many grantees who received funding are CORA’s county-wide domestic violence prevention, Friends for Youth’s Mentoring, Ravenswood Family Health Center, Peninsula Family Service Agency, Redwood City 2020, Redwood City Library, San Mateo Police Activity League, Sheriff’s Activity League, Saint Francis Center, Caminar, Mental Health Association of San Mateo County, and the Boys and Girls Clubs Coastside and Peninsula.
