Visitor Policy and COVID-19 Information
As part of our commitment to protect our patients and staff, and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases affecting our communities (including COVID-19 and monkeypox), we have implemented the following in our facilities:
Anyone entering our facilities must continue to wear a well-fitted mask, that covers their nose, mouth and chin, regardless of vaccination status. You may receive a recommendation to wear a KP supplied mask upon entry to facility to improve safety. Please adhere to all self-symptom screening required for entry to our facilities as posted at entry points.
Inpatient Facilities
Our hospital visitor restrictions correspond directly to the CDPH-published COVID-19 transmission rates in the county that our hospitals are located and are based on 4 levels of transmission rates: high, substantial, moderate, or low. For your local facility visitor policy information please check the list below.
Per a health order from the state of California, hospital or skilled nursing facility visitors must provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test result which has been taken within 48 hours before entry or a negative COVID-19 antigen test result which has been taken within 24 hours before entry. This is not applicable to those entering the facility to access the lab, pharmacy, or radiology.

Medical Offices Win Sustainable San Mateo County Green Building Award
We’re building with the health of the environment in mind too. The new Marshall Medical Offices on our Redwood City campus recently won a Green Building Award from Sustainable San Mateo County. See the video.
COVID Testing
Use a COVID-19 home antigen test at the first sign of symptoms. Visit kp.org/covidtests to learn more about testing for COVID-19.
Appointments are required. Kaiser Permanente members can schedule a no cost COVID-19 lab test appointment online at kp.org/evisits or call 650-299-2015 (24 hours).
Please don’t go to urgent care or the emergency department for COVID-19 testing — only members who need immediate care should go to those locations.
COVID-19 Vaccine
Vaccines prevent serious illness and the COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age.
