Mammography

About Our Services
Mammography is an X-ray test of the breasts (mammary glands) that is used to diagnose breast cancer. The resulting X-ray picture is called a mammogram. A mammogram is done to help screen for or diagnose breast cancer. Many small tumors can be seen on a mammogram before they can be felt by a woman or her doctor.

Online video: Fast Mammogram Results Give Peace of Mind
The most uncomfortable part of a mammogram is waiting for the results. For a cancer survivor like Ann Bevans, who gets frequent mammograms to make sure her cancer hasn’t returned, this wait can be a harrowing experience. That’s why our board-certified Kaiser Permanente radiologists provide mammogram results in 30 to 60 minutes, so that our patients can have peace of mind. And if there is an abnormal finding, these rapid results enable us to act quickly in the battle against breast cancer.
