Comprehensive Stroke Program
Patient Resources | Quality and Outcomes

Our Services

We provide primary and secondary stroke prevention and care for our patients based on the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association’s guidelines. We are committed to providing the latest acute stroke therapies with a multidisciplinary approach. We share our stroke prevention resources with our communities and provide stroke survivor/caregiver support.

Our medical center has maintained Advanced Certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center from The Joint Commission since 2016 which authorizes our hospital team to perform advanced neuro-invasive procedures, and — for nine years in a row, a “Get With The Guidelines® —Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award” from the American Heart Association for consistently treating heart and stroke patients according to evidence-based treatment standards.

Our Neuroscience Center provides 24/7 specialized treatment of complex stroke and neurological disorders. We serve as a Northern California referral center of expertise for Kaiser Permanente members and the community.

These efforts have earned Kaiser Permanente’s Redwood City Hospital a prestigious Comprehensive Stroke Center certification since 2016, which is among the first 100 hospitals in the nation to achieve this certification from The Joint Commission.
