Both Kaiser Permanente Vacaville and Vallejo Medical Centers were recently honored by the State of California Health and Human Services Agency and Smart Care California with a 2016 Achievement Award for meeting or exceeding the Healthy People 2020 Goal for low-risk, first-birth cesarean deliveries.
To receive the award, a hospital much achieve a C-section rate of 23.9 percent or lower. “By reaching this goal, your team is delivering safer and more affordable care for Californians,” said Diana S. Dooley, Secretary, Health and Human Services Agency, in a letter to the hospitals.
Solano County Supervisor Erin Hannigan is taking a creative approach to meeting with her constituents, and Kaiser Permanente is proud to support her efforts!
“Walk with the Supervisor” is held every Friday at 9 a.m. at the Vallejo waterfront, outside the ferry building, and on Friday, December 9, Supervisor Hannigan was joined by Michael Mason, MD, a family medicine and geriatric specialist at Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center.
Both Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center were recently recognized among the nation’s best hospitals at providing high quality, innovative expert care by The Leapfrog Group — a national watchdog group that compares hospitals’ performance on U.S. standards of safety, quality and efficiency. Thirteen other Kaiser Permanente hospitals were also recognized. In order to be on the list, a Top Hospital must have fulfilled rigorous performance standards for high-risk procedures, and attained outstanding success in areas such as instituting stringent safety practices and reducing infection and mortality rates for common procedures. Hospitals must also fully meet Leapfrog’s standards for implementing computer physician order entry systems.
