Golden Turmeric Oatmal

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup rolled oats or overnight soaked steel cut oats
  • 2.5 cups of unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 0.5 tsp of ground cardamom
  • 0.5 tsp powdered turmericrecipe – Golden Tumeric Oatmeal
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp of ginger powder
  • 1-2 tsp of flax seeds
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • Maple syrup or date paste to taste
  • Toppings: slivered almonds, pumpkin seeds, finely chopped apple, banana slices, strawberries, raspberries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients to a pan except sweetener and gently bring mixture to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat until just simmering and continue to cook for about 10 minutes stirring frequently until mixture has thickened.
  3. Add ¼ tsp of maple syrup to the oatmeal.
  4. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy.
