It’s practically impossible nowadays to navigate your busy life without relying on your smartphone. Mobile devices have become crucial for keeping in touch with friends and colleagues, tracking appointments, and managing finances. Smartphones have even changed shopping — with a tap of a button, you can order everything from a new mattress to tonight’s groceries.

Mobile devices have transformed the way people access information and services, and health care is no exception. Kaiser Permanente’s Digital Experience Center is constantly exploring how mobile apps can help you and your family thrive, then using that research to redesign the Kaiser Permanente app.

As a result of their tireless work and research, the app features user-friendly tools to enhance your experience. Check out these 5 resources designed to help you get care and support, wherever you are and whenever you need it.

1. Pay bills from your phone

If you remember a pending bill while away from home, we’ve got you covered. You can now securely view and pay medical bills using the Kaiser Permanente app.1 Check your bill history, make a payment, and manage payment methods all from your smartphone.

2. Refill prescriptions on the go

Most of your prescription refills are at your fingertips with the mobile pharmacy center. Place orders, check their status, and access your medication instructions all from the app. If you ever have trouble reaching your regular pharmacy location, our app helps you find nearby pharmacies and check their hours.

3. Access messages with ease

Our app’s messaging center makes talking with your care team easy, with an integrated mailbox for all your incoming and outgoing mail. Email your doctor’s office, an advice nurse, a pharmacist, member support teams, and other departments with your nonurgent questions— then get all your replies in one place.

4. Stay on schedule with appointment manager

Illness and injuries can happen when you least expect them, so it’s important to have quick, easy access to the care you need, when you need it. You can view appointment details and even join a video visit from the app. And if something comes up, simply use the app to schedule, cancel, or reschedule appointments, day or night, at home or on the go.

5. Get care en español

No matter what language you speak, you should feel confident with the care and support you get. If you prefer Spanish language when navigating your health needs, you can now easily toggle between English and Spanish when using the app.1

The Kaiser Permanente app also lets you access your personal health record and offers a digital version of your member ID card.

These features are intended to give you a more seamless and convenient care experience. Sixty percent of our members say our digital tools have helped them get the care they need, while avoiding an office visit.2

If you’ve already installed the app on your smartphone, be sure to update it to see all the latest features. If you’re a member and don’t yet have the app, you can download it from the App Store® or on Google Play™.3
