    Jason Brayley, MD

    Co-Director, Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Center

     

    Jason Brayley, MD, earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has served as a team physician for multiple high school and collegiate teams, including seven years as a team physician in professional cycling. He is board-certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Brayley is a team physician for the Sacramento Kings.

  • Susan Joy, MD

    Co-Director, Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Center

     

    Susan Joy, MD, attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine after she graduated from Amherst College. She received her specialty training in primary care sports medicine at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Joy is board-certified in Family Medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. She has served as a team physician at the high school, collegiate Division I and III, and professional level.

    Gloria Rho, MD

    Sports Medicine

     

    Gloria Rho, MD, earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She did her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago/Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in sports medicine at UC Davis Medical Center and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. She is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.

    Jason R. Zemanovic, MD

    Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

     

    Jason R. Zemanovic, MD, graduated college and medical school from University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Zemanovic completed a fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. During his fellowship, Dr. Zemanovic helped provide medical care for athletes with Troy University, the Washington Redskins, and the Birmingham Barons. He is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Zemanovic is a team physician for the Sacramento Kings.

    Marty Reed, MD

    Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

     

    Marty Reed, MD, graduated college from University of California, Davis, and medical school from University of Southern California. After residency, Dr. Reed completed a fellowship at Santa Monica Orthopedic Group and has been responsible for the care of athletes on the Galaxy, Chivas USA, and Men’s and Women’s US soccer teams, the Amgen Tour of California, and at Pepperdine University and various high schools. He is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Reed is a team physician for the Sacramento Kings.

    Scott Meier, MD

    Associate Physician, Sports Medicine

     

    Scott Meier, MD, graduated college at University of California, Davis. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University, completed his residency at University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. He has served as a team physician for a variety of high school, college, and professional sports teams, including the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team. He is board-certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine.

  • Doctor Levine

    Dawn Levine, PhD

     

    Dawn Levine, PhD, graduated college from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Washington State University. She interned at the Long Beach Veterans Association and completed her post-doctoral residency in neuropsychology at UCLA. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of concussion patients. Dr. Levine is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society and the Sports Neuropsychology Society.

  • Mark Davies

    Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

     

    Mark Davies, MD, earned his medical degree from UCLA Medical School, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at UCLA, including a dedicated research year. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. Dr. Davies has cared for professional athletes from the NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBA. He is currently the chief of orthopedic surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Jose, and a team physician for the San Jose Sharks.

  • Scott Crow

    Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

     

    Scott Crow, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with added subspecialty certification in orthopedic sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at UCLA. Dr. Crow completed subspecialty training in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Dr. Crow is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Crow has assisted in the care of many athletes, including the Anaheim Ducks, LA Kings, LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Angels of Anaheim, and the LA Sparks. He is currently assistant chief of orthopedic surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Jose, and a team physician for the San Jose Sharks.

  • Alec Uy

    Family Medicine

     

    Alec Uy, MD, earned his medical degree from Wayne State University, and completed his residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Arizona. He ran a private practice in the Phoenix area and served as a clinical instructor for the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Dr. Uy is a board-certified family medicine physician. He currently is an assistant chief of adult and family medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Jose, a clinical instructor for Stanford medical students, and a team physician for the San Jose Sharks.

    Family Medicine and Sports Medicine

     

    Chris Fowler, MD, earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at the University of California, San Diego. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Stanford University. He is a board-certified family medicine physician specializing in sports medicine, and is a member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. He has provided care to elite athletes, including the San Francisco 49ers, professional tennis players participating in the SAP Open, Division I Stanford University athletes (football, men’s/women’s soccer, wrestling, men’s/women’s tennis), Archbishop Riordan High School athletes (football, basketball), and the Trier Cardinals baseball team in Germany. Dr. Fowler is currently a sports medicine physician in the department of orthopedics at Kaiser Permanente San Jose, and a team physician for the San Jose Sharks.

  • Young Yoon

    Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine

     

    Youg Yoon, MD, earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, and is a board-certified emergency medicine and sports medicine physician. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at O’Connor Hospital where he worked with the San Jose Sharks and the San Jose SaberCats, as well as athletes at Menlo College. Dr. Yoon has also provided medical care to athletes at various events, including the New York City Marathon, the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon, the Santa Cruz Triathlon, and the Moto GP Race Series at Laguna Seca. He is currently an attending physician in emergency medicine at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, and a team physician for the San Jose Sharks.

  • David Nix

    Emergency Medicine

     

    David Nix, MD, earned his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in the Stanford University/Kaiser Permanente Emergency Medicine Residency Program. He was an academic and administrative fellow at Stanford, where he assisted the Stanford Athletic Department with pre-participation physicals and providing medical care for NCAA athletes competing in cross-country and wrestling. He is a board-certified emergency physician. While at Kaiser Permanente, he has provided medical coverage for the Nike Women’s Marathon series in San Francisco. He is currently an attending emergency physician and clinical instructor for the Stanford University/Kaiser Permanente Emergency Medicine Program at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, and a team physician for the San Jose Sharks.

    Orthopedic Surgery and Hand Surgery

     

    Katherine Gray, MD, earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. She did an additional year of subspecialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a subspecialty certification in hand surgery. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Gray is currently an assistant chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Jose, and a consulting physician for the San Jose Sharks.

    Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Sports Medicine

     

    William Firtch, MD, earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed his residency training at the University of California, Irvine. He completed a fellowship with Sports Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Associates, where he participated in the care of elite high school, college, and professional athletes. Dr. Firtch holds subspecialty certifications in sports medicine, pain management, and electrodiagnostic medicine, and is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician specializing in spine care and sports medicine. He is the medical director of spine care for Kaiser Permanente Northern California, and a consulting physician for the San Jose Sharks.

  • Steven Spisak

    Orthopedic Surgery and Spine Surgery

     

    Steven Spisak, MD, earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan, and completed his orthopedic surgery training and spine surgery fellowship training at Stanford University. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in orthopedic spine surgery. He helped to establish Kaiser Permanente’s first spine surgery program in San Diego and expand the regional spine surgery service into San Jose. Dr. Spisak has worked with athletes from a variety of sports programs around the Bay Area, and he frequently helps care for the IRONMAN World Championship athletes in Kona, Hawaii. He is a consulting physician for the San Jose Sharks.

  • Kevin Merrill

    Ophthalmology

     

    Kevin Merrill, MD, earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, and completed his residency in ophthalmology at UC Davis. He completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Merrill is an active member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He currently serves as the regional lead of Pediatric Ophthalmology for Kaiser Permanente Northern California, and as a consulting physician for the San Jose Sharks.
