U.S. News & World Report Rates Kaiser Permanente San Diego/Zion Medical Centers Among the Nation’s Top Performers

SAN DIEGO — July 26, 2022 -- Kaiser Permanente San Diego and Zion medical centers are among the best in the nation for delivering high-quality care, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-23 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings released July 26.

These two hospitals, along with the other 37 Kaiser Permanente hospitals across the country, were rated among the top 20% in the nation as high performing for at least one of the 35 medical specialties, conditions and procedures that U.S. News monitors.

“This recognition underscores our world-class physicians and care teams who work with the support of our integrated care delivery system to address our patients’ care needs – from the routine to the most specialized,” said Jane Finley, Senior Vice President and Area Manager for Kaiser Permanente San Diego. “We are proud that U.S. News and World Report once again places us within the top tier of hospitals nationwide.”

The two medical centers are also tied for 26th on U.S. News’ list of top hospitals in the state. U.S. News rated San Diego and Zion medical centers as “high performing” or “nationally ranked” in the specialty of pulmonology and lung surgery.

U.S. News considered more than 4,500 hospitals for its 33rd annual rankings/ratings report.
