Rancho Cucamonga Medical Offices earns Garfield Distinction

The Rancho Cucamonga Medical Offices has earned Kaiser Permanente's Garfield Distinction. Named for Kaiser Permanente co-founder, Dr. Sidney Garfield whose commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and affordability laid the foundation for Permanente Medicine, the Garfield Distinction was developed in 2018 to elevate care delivery and quality outcomes for medical offices' operations. The Garfield Distinction uses evidence-based performance criteria drawn from multiple national guidelines to define levels of operational excellence. Serving as a guide for continuous improvement, the criteria form the basis for defining and assessing operations.

The Kaiser Permanente Fontana and Ontario Hospitals are the first Kaiser Permanente hospitals to determine, and declare, that they have achieved full conformance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard.

Threats to the health of our environment are rapidly becoming threats to human health. The Kaiser Permanente Fontana and Ontario Medical Centers therefore recognize the need to provide high-quality, affordable health care services while, at the same time, operating in a manner that accentuates positive environmental impacts and/or eliminates negative environmental impacts.

Nicholas P. Krikes, MD, Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Medical Society

Dr. David Quam, Area Medical Director and Chief of Staff, received the "Nicholas P. Krikes, MD, Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Medical Society" in June 2012. This award is given each year to a SBCMS member for sustained interest and participation over and above that expected by the membership at large.

In recognition of KP's ongoing support, Inland Empire United Way named the Fontana and Ontario Medical Centers its Company of the Month for June 2012.
