Our Genetic Counselors

Jodi Kirsch, MS, LCGC

My Background

I was born and raised in Duluth Minnesota—a very beautiful, but very cold part of the country.

Education & Experience

I completed two years of college in in Eau Claire, Wisconsin before moving to Southern California. I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in biology, then went on to earn my master’s degree in genetic counseling from CSUN as well.

I learned about genetic counseling during my senior year of college as I was looking for a way to combine my fascination for science, especially genetics, and passion for working with and helping people. Genetic counseling is that perfect mixture for me. Educating people about their options and empowering them to take control of their health and lives is the most satisfying aspect of my job.

About My Practice

I see patients in the prenatal and cancer genetics settings.

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1998, and I can’t imagine working anyplace else. The people at Kaiser Permanente are among the most knowledgeable, caring, capable and compassionate I have ever met.  That together with the integrated system and computerized medical record, makes Kaiser Permanente the best place to provide and receive health care.

How I Thrive

I enjoy traveling, reading, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
