Farmer’s Market

Date: October 20, 2017

Time: 8:30am to 1:30pm

Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Farmer’s Market is every Friday at the cafeteria patio of the medical center campus from 8:30am to 1:30pm and is open to the community. It serves as an effort to promote healthier eating by making locally grown produce more readily available to the local community. Southland Farmer’s Market Association operates the market, which is held rain or shine.

Live entertainment is provided by local artists who play a variety of music.

A component of the Farmer’s Market is our Healthy Cookin’ demonstrations that utilize seasonal fruits and vegetables to help individuals learn how to prepare healthier snacks and meals for themselves and their families. After observing the demonstration, shoppers can purchase ingredients at the market. The Health Education department at the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center spearheads the cooking demonstrations and identifies recipes. Physicians, managers, and staff serve as guest chefs. Free samples are provided as well as the recipe for that day. Cooking demonstrations are held at 12pm on the first Farmer’s Market Friday of each month.

There may be times when the market is canceled due to a holiday. Announcements and updates are provided via www.twitter.com/KPBaldwinPark. For more information, call 626-851-5223.
