Address
Pediatrics Department 190
Hours
By appointment only
Tuesday afternoons and once monthly on Thursday afternoon
New patients (average duration of appointment: 1.5 hours)
Returning patients (average duration of appointment: 1 hour)
Goal
To help children and teens aged 6 -17 years old and their families make healthy lifestyle choices to ensure a healthy weight and habits for their lifetime.
Expectation
A commitment from the child, plus parents and caregivers involved in the child’s environment, to try to adopt healthier lifestyle choices and habits.
Services
We offer a variety of services depending on what you and your family need most. There are 3 choices and you are welcome to enroll for one, two, or all three types of visits. We currently have virtual options available.
- An individualized visit with each of our multi-disciplinary team members who will help build, guide and support a healthy lifestyle through discussing specific changes you and your family can make in different aspects of your health. This currently can be done in person (assuming no illness/Covid symptoms) or virtually through video visits.
- Group monthly activity class: every 4th Tuesday we offer a 75-90 min class with 20-25 min of physical activity, 5 minutes of mindfulness and meditation, then a 30-40 min class on topic noted on calendar. These are fun, interactive, and help your child or teen learn in a group setting. These are currently all virtual by Web-Ex. Advance registration required.
- Healthy Cooking class: every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 4:00-5:30, we offer a fun, hands on cooking class for kids and teens (parents need to be around to supervise). These are currently held virtually by Web-Ex. We encourage kids/teens/families to cook along with the class so they have a meal ready at the end! Advanced registration required.
