ABOUT US

The Pediatric Chronic Pain Clinic (PCPC) is a multidisciplinary clinic (includes Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, and Pediatrician) designed to help teens with chronic pain learn skills to manage their symptoms with less dependence on medications and procedures. We want teens to increase their functionality, even when in pain, so they can re-integrate into school, sports, as well as social and family life. With these new skills, teens can learn to enjoy life again with the support of their families and the PCPC team. If they experience a pain flare, they will have the skills to address the symptoms effectively. Teens will be taught to identify and address the thought and behavior patterns that can prolong a pain cycle. Teens can learn to regain control of their lives, instead of allowing pain to control them.

PCPC 8 WEEK PROGRAM

Join our once weekly 8-week program to learn about chronic pain, how to manage your chronic pain symptoms using evidence-based methods, and how to improve your everyday functioning. Seize the opportunity to regain control of your life!

During these after-school sessions, you will:

  • Learn about chronic pain
  • Discover and apply tools to manage your symptoms
  • Explore ways to improve your quality of life

This program is geared for patients 13 through 17 years of age.

* A referral from your doctor is needed

Group Sessions

COVID 19 RESPONSE: Due to concerns related to COVID 19, our in-person PCPC evaluations and group sessions are temporarily on hold. To support our pediatric patients during this difficult time, we have instated a NEW SERVICE – we are now offering a group WebEx series to help individuals and their families cope. The series is comprised of a once weekly virtual group that runs for 3 weeks. If interested, please ask your teen’s provider if your teen would be a candidate for our services.
