San Jose Sleep Medicine Services

The San Jose Outpatient Sleep Clinic and Regional Attended Sleep Medicine Lab at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center are dedicated to establishing the model program in the evaluation and treatment of patients with sleep disorders.  Patients are typically seen in the outpatient sleep clinic at their home medical center for initial evaluation of their sleep complaints. For those patients requiring further evaluation, the local outpatient sleep clinic may arrange for consultation with a regional sleep specialist or an attended sleep study at our Regional Attended Sleep Medicine Lab here in San Jose.

The first step in the evaluation of most sleep complaints is to check for evidence of Sleep Apnea.  Even mild levels of Sleep Apnea can result in daytime fatigue and problems with concentration.  More severe levels of apnea have been linked with a variety of health issues, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and increased risks of heart attack and stroke.  Testing and treatment of Sleep Apnea is usually done in our outpatient sleep clinics.

Your sleep diagnosis and treatment may include an outpatient sleep study, a visit with a respiratory therapist, a visit with a sleep physician, and/or an overnight study in our attended sleep laboratory.
