Many patients receive their treatment at the Adult Infusion Center. At the center, we administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, fluid hydration, as well as other types of cancer treatment.
The center is staffed by a team of specially trained oncologists and hematologists, chemotherapy nurses, chemotherapy pharmacists, a department director and manager, case managers, a social worker, several medical assistants, and other personnel. We work together as a team to coordinate care for your specific treatment needs.
The Adult Infusion Center provides an introductory class on cancer treatment for newly diagnosed patients and their families. The purpose of the class is to:
- Acquaint you with the resources of the Adult Infusion Center and Oncology Department.
- Provide information and answer questions about your treatment.
- Discuss possible side effects and how to manage them.
We hope the class will lessen any apprehension you and your family may have about beginning treatment. Please feel free to ask us any questions that you or your family have at any time during your treatment.
