Taking Care of Patients after Cardiac Surgery
Welcome to the Cardiac surgery post-operative care class! This live online class is offered to family and friends of patients who have recently had open heart surgery at Kaiser Permanente. This class provides information on how to care for them at home after being discharged from the hospital.
No registration or fees are required to attend. Discussion includes topics on incision care, sternal precautions, activity and pain management and other post-operative concerns.
We recommend setting up your computer 15 minutes before the class starts. You’ll need an Internet connection and a telephone (landline or cell phone) to participate.
- If using a PC, we recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for your web browser.
- If using a Mac, we recommend Safari or Google Chrome for your web browser.
- We don’t recommend using a tablet because some features may not work.

Classes will be offered every Mondays and Wednesdays (except holidays) at 2 – 3 pm through the end of the year via Teams.
