Newborn Care Online 

Wouldn’t it be nice if babies came with instruction manuals? In this class, we’ll teach you the information and skills you need to feel confident about caring for your newborn. We’ll cover essential topics such as feeding, bathing, diapering, and when to call your physician.  

Sessions: One 2-hour online session. No cost for members. Members only. 

Breastfeeding Online 

Breastfeeding offers many health benefits for you and your baby. Learn how to position your baby for optimal nursing, how to tell if your baby is getting enough milk, and ways to prevent and overcome common breastfeeding discomforts and challenges.  

Sessions: One 2-hour online session. No cost for members. Members only. 

Preparing for Childbirth Online 

Welcoming your baby is an exciting event. Get prepared by learning what to expect before, during, and after delivery. Practice breathing and relaxation techniques to ease labor and understand your options for managing labor. Bring snacks, pillows or a mat, and wear comfortable clothing as some of the exercises are performed on the floor. A virtual tour of our Redwood City Medical Center Labor and Delivery area is included in the class. 

Sessions: One 2.5-hour online session. No cost for members. Members only. 

Meet The Midwives Class Online 

Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) provide care for women with low-risk pregnancies at our San Mateo and Redwood City facilities. In this session, you’ll have an opportunity to meet our midwives and ask any questions you may have about the care they provide.  

Sessions: One 2-hour online session. No cost for members. Members only.

Postpartum Survival Class Online

Birth is just the beginning… and the postpartum period is a journey all its own. The early days of parenthood are filled with incomparable excitement and joy, but also exhaustion and a totally life-altering new “normal.” From the emotional and physical changes that accompany giving birth to the necessity of freezer meals and power naps, learn what the “fourth trimester” is really like and what it takes to not only survive but thrive after welcoming your newest family member home.
