Chair Yoga Online

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is done seated in a chair and is appropriate for most ages and abilities, including those who have hip and knee issues. Chair yoga can improve your flexibility, concentration, and strength, while boosting your mood, and reducing stress and joint strain without having to get on the floor. Yoga can improve sleep, while reducing stress and anxiety. Practice includes centering breath work and relaxation. Discuss with your health care provider to see if this is an appropriate exercise for you. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Supplies Needed:  Armless chair with a firm seat and back, pillow or blanket

Sessions: Three 45-minute online sessions. No cost to members, members only.

Gentle Yoga Online

Gentle yoga is a gentler style of hatha yoga practice. It is performed at a slower pace, with less intense positions, includes time for meditation, breath work, and relaxation. Gentle yoga increases flexibility, enhances range of motion, calms the mind, and strengthens the body, and can improve sleep, while reducing stress and anxiety. Discuss with your health care provider to see if this is an appropriate exercise for you. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Supplies Needed:  Yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, 2 thick blankets or beach towels

Sessions: Three 45-minute online sessions. No cost to members, members only.

Postpartum Yoga 

Postpartum yoga is a modified, low-intensity yoga practice. A lot of changes happen to your body after childbirth. In this gentle class you will find time to reconnect with your body, ease tension, restore strength and flexibility, regain tone in the pelvic floor, and includes time for breath work and relaxation. This type of yoga is designed to help your body recover and can improve sleep, while reducing stress and anxiety. Discuss with your health care provider to see if this is an appropriate exercise for you. Should be a minimum of 4-6 weeks postpartum. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Supplies Needed:  Yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, 2 thick blankets or beach towels

Prenatal Yoga

Pregnancy is a unique and special time in your life. Your body is changing daily while your baby grows. In this gentle class you will learn which movements can help stretch, strengthen, and tone the body in expectation of labor. Includes time for breath work and relaxation. Prenatal yoga can improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, and decrease back pain. Discuss with your health care provider to see if this is an appropriate exercise for you. No previous yoga experience necessary.
