Sharpen your carbohydrate counting, food label reading, and meal planning skills. You will also learn tips for healthy dining out and the insulin to carbohydrate ratio. Prerequisite: Diabetes Nutrition Part A. Members only.

Diet plays a big role in management of cholesterol levels, congestive heart failure, and high blood pressure. If you have one or more of these condiditons, this class is for you. Feeding Your Young Child: Overview Health Education/Nutrition Services

Take the worry out of feeding your young child. Learn how to determine the right amounts and types of food to serve. Learn tips on how to deal with feeding challenges common in toddlers and preschoolers, and how to help your child develop healthy eating habits for life. Parents only, please. Members only.

Healthy Eating, Active Living for Kids and Families

Healthy eating and exercise habits begin at home. We’ll cover basic nutrition principles and strategies on how to increase energy and fitness with activities the whole family can enjoy. For children 6 to 11, parents need to attend with their child. For children 2 to 5, parents only please.

Plant-based Nutrition: Part A

A well-planned plant-based diet can improve health and reduce the incidence of many common diseases. This class will cover the benefits of being vegetarian, how to meet your nutritional needs, and how to restock your kitchen and cook vegetarian. Sample menus and online resources will be provided. Whether you are already vegetarian or just want to learn how to eat less meat, this class is right for you!

This class delves more into menu planning, shopping, and cooking for a plant based, whole food diet. This class is ideal for any person wanting to learn how to add more whole food, plant based foods to their diet. Participants are not required to be ‘vegetarian’ or ‘vegan’ to attend. Members only.
