If you have a two story home, arrange to use a bed and bathroom on the ground floor if possible. This way, you won’t have to worry about managing your stairs until you feel ready.

Bathroom preparation
Organize your furniture so there is a clear path between your bed and bathroom that is wide enough for a walker. Walkers are at least two feet wide.

Remove throw rugs and other objects from the floor that could cause you to trip and fall. This may include moving electrical or phone cords out of the walkways.

Make sure that you have lighting at night between your bed and bathroom. You can leave a light on or install night lights

Lighting for night
Place a phone and other things you often need within reach on a nightstand, so you can reach them without having to turn or twist in bed.
