Minimally Invasive Removal of Fibroids
Removing fibroids can either be done laparoscopically or through hysteroscopy (putting the camera up in through the vagina directly into the uterus). In women wanting to preserve their fertility, this is a good option. Laparoscopic removal of fibroids can be done as an outpatient surgery. If a woman has many fibroids and wants to preserve fertility then she may need to have an open procedure. Ideal candidates for laparoscopic removal of fibroids (myomas) are women with a small number of fibroids.
