Downloading and Installing the My Doctor Online Mobile App
These step-by-step instructions will help guide you on how to get set-up from your video visit using the Kaiser Permanente My Doctor Online (MDO) app on your Android phone or tablet.
Quick-Tips for a Successful Connection:
- A strong Wi-Fi or cellular signal is recommended. If quality of internet connection is poor, try moving closer to the wireless router or to an area with stronger cell coverage.
- Some public venues that offer Wi-Fi, such as libraries or schools, may block streaming content.
Step 1: Go to the Google Play Store and search for “My Doctor Online”. |

Step 2: Tap “Install” to download the app from Google Play Store. |

Step 3: Once installed, open the app. |

Step 4: After opening the app, allow access to Phone Calls, Pictures and Video, and Audio recording. (Note: the app doesn’t record video or audio, these default system messages allow access to the camera and microphone.) |

Step 5: Sign into the app with your kp.org User ID and Password or use “Temporary Access” at the time of the appointment. |

Step 6: After signing in, tap on “Appointments, View All”, locate the Video Visit appointment, then tap “Join Video Visit”. |

Step 7: 15 minutes before your appointment, tap “Join Video Visit” to enter your visit. |

Ensure that Your Camera and Microphone are Enabled
Both your camera and microphone need to be enabled for a successful video visit. If you can’t hear or see your provider in the video visit, follow these steps to ensure that both are enabled.
Note: Many connection issues can be resolved if you leave the visit and then rejoin the visit.
