Stockton volunteer opportunities

We have many opportunities for volunteers to do a wide variety of tasks that will help in improving our patient care and assist our facility to run smoothly and efficiently. We are currently looking for volunteers who enjoy talking to people, are outgoing, trustworthy, and want to make each patient encounter a positive experience. Our current tasks include greeting patients, providing direction throughout our facilities in various departments, and assisting with various clerical tasks.

Clerical Assistance – Assist with a variety of clerical tasks: computer input, filing, copying, and additional clerical tasks as needed with in the department.

Greeter/Escort  – Provide direction, assistance, information and wheelchair assistance to those who need escorting to and from the patient pick up/drop off areas or within the buildings. Serve as a host to provide members with personalized services and Way finding. Wheel chair Training is provided.

Health Education Department – Be able to show members appropriate information. Print literature from online resources for members
Assist with rental of videos and breast pumps. Show members how to use EMMI and the ADA computer, Blood pressure station, Weight station
Body Fat Analyzer usage; help with maintaining neatness of Center and class registration, preparation of room and materials.

Laboratory Department – Provides support to Lab staff. Direct patients to appropriate draw station. Demonstrate courtesy and warmth to members. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Outpatient Surgery Department – Monitors patients and families as they check in for surgery.  Escort family members into PRE-OP and/or PACU when notified by nursing staff, proactively monitor pre-op area to determine if nurse ready for family member, assist with appropriate clerical projects (mailings, etc.) answer phone when receptionist steps away.

Physical Therapy Department – Clean/sanitize exercise equipmen, keep the gym organized, assemble folders for, stock treatment rooms.

Radiology Department -Escort members from the waiting areas to their treatment area. (CT scan, MRI, Mammography, X-Ray) Wheel Chair training is provided. Provides support to clinic staff. Directs patients to appropriate waiting room. Demonstrates courtesy and warmth to members.

Service Desk – Escorting members / visitors, problem solving, completing errands and short term projects as deemed appropriate. Computer training is provided when appropriate.  Deliver newspapers and magazines to patients and clinic waiting areas in the AM. Provide directions and information to members, retrieve and locate wheelchairs throughout facility
