Delivering our best
Having your baby at Kaiser Permanente means having a complete team of doctors, nurses, midwives, lactation consultants, and pediatricians all working together – all for you. So, from your first prenatal visit to follow-up postpartum care and each milestone between, you get maternity care that delivers total confidence at every step.

Growing with confidence
Just about every family has some predelivery jitters. But Kaiser Permanente has plenty of ways to help prepare you for your big day. We offer childbirth classes, birth planning, and follow-up support, such as postpartum classes and help with breastfeeding.
Special deliveries
Newborns. Always adorable. But not always punctual. That’s why our birth centers are staffed 24/7 with labor and delivery doctors, anesthesiologists, midwives, and other key care team members. This means we’re able to make clinical decisions, including moving quickly to a cesarean section, regardless of time of day or night. For those wanting to deliver vaginally, it’s good to know that our rate for VBACs (short for “vaginal birth after cesarean”) is 18% higher than the national average.1,2

The suite life
At our hospitals, you can settle in to private birthing suites or private family bonding or postpartum rooms. Other amenities include hydrotherapy tubs, lactation consultants, free Wi-Fi, even room service. We’re here to help you feel comfortable and ready to bond with your baby, so these comforts are right at your fingertips.

Big care for little ones
Since opening in 2014, the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center has cared for more than 2500 babies, including 190 sets of twins and 5 sets of triplets. As a Level III NICU, we have the ability to treat critically ill newborns and those as young as 23 weeks. Our highly trained staff is available around the clock and welcomes you as an integral part of the team.

If you’ve had trouble getting pregnant, there’s a wide range of treatments available that may help give you the support you need toward pregnancy. Our clinicians provide personalized fertility counseling as well as a range of fertility labs, testing, prescriptions, and IUI (Intrauterine insemination) services.
