Services Offered through South Sacramento Kaiser Attended Sleep Lab

Diagnostic

  • Overnight Sleep Study
    • Diagnose sleep-related breathing disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, and hypoventilation
    • Diagnose REM Behavior Disorder, Sleep Walking, Confusional Arousals, Night terrors, and other parasomnias
  • Daytime Studies
    • Actigraphy: A wrist watch worn for one to two weeks used to measure sleep/wake patterns and diagnose disorders of circadian rhythm.
    • MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test): this is a daytime sleep study to diagnose some disorders of sleepiness such as narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia.

Treatment

  • Positive Airway Pressure Trial: Overnight attended CPAP and Bi-level titrations for obstructive sleep apnea and iVAPs for hypoventilation syndromes, Bi-Level servo-ventilation for central sleep apnea.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of other non-PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) therapies.
